Erykah Badu receives a $500.00 fine for “Window Seat” antics.

Looks like our favorite neo-soul diva has escaped prosecution (for now). Dallas police have opted to charge the “Next Lifetime” singer with a fine and have no intentions of filing criminal charges unless there is a formal complaint filed.

Somehow I know some media hungry minion, will come crawling out of the woodwork in search of their 15 minutes and want to file charges against Ms. Badu.

But all is well for now!

The Dallas Police Department is issuing Erykah Badu a citation after someone complained about her stripping naked on the streets of downtown Dallas.

Badu has been charged with disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor, for disrobing while shooting her “guerilla-style” video for the song “Window Seat” in Dealey Plaza last month.

The decision to issue the citation to Badu was made after a complainant was filed with the police informing them of the complainant’s disgust.

“The city attorney’s office and the Dallas Police Department has decided to charge the entertainer known as Erykah Badu with disorderly conduct. After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct when she disrobed in a public place without disregard to individuals and small children who were close by,” said Sgt. Warren Mitchell, Dallas police.

The Dallas police said they had no plans to file charges against the singer unless someone complained.  Now, a citation will be mailed to Badu. She faces a maximum fine of $500 and can either pay the fine or fight the citation in court.

Badu released the music video Saturday and since then it has been the subject of controversy by many who feel her stripping was, at the very least, disrepectful.  Others didn’t see the harm and seized the opportunity to parody the Grammy-winning singer, including K104 morning DJ Skip Cheatham, who shot his own video to her song while he undressed on the streets of Dallas.

This is just a disturbing news day. The seven year old girl was enough to send me over the edge. Now this story out of Detroit of a 19 year old sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping his grandmother.

While folks are busy protesting gay marriage….this the shit they really need to be worried about.  I’m sure everyone involved in raping the 7 year old girl considers themselves straight and I’m sure the young man responsible for the rape of his grandmother considers himself straight as well.

Clean up on aisle 3: Man sues pet smart after falling in animal feces

Its a recession, so you can’t blame a man for trying to come up but there has to be a better way?

A VA. man is suing the pet store chain Petsmart, after having a “boo-boo”  in their store.

A Virginia man is not taking any more of PetSmart’s crap—literally.

70-year-old Robert Holloway is suing PetSmart after he says he fell in dog defecation at a Newport News store causing him to injure his back, bump his head and knock out his teeth.

The $1 million lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court against the Phoenix, Arizona based company on the basis that they “negligently allowed animals to enter the premises and deposit feces in such a manner as to create a dangerous and hazardous condition.”

Holloway says he was visiting the store in January of 2009 when he accidentally stepped in a pile of dog poop that “blended in with the floor.”

The lawsuit says the man’s body “violently twisted” and he fell and bumped his head.

He lost four teeth because of the incident and had to have back surgery.

PetSmart denies any wrongdoing.

51 year old, terminally ill woman robs bank as part of her “Bucket List”

Man snaps out over a Fillet of Fish from McDonalds

And to think I was of the understanding that McDonald’s was the home of the “Happy Meal”. One New Jersey man was anything but “happy” and felt compelled to express it by way of strangulation.

Police are on the hunt for a New Jersey man they say climbed through the window of a McDonald’s drive-thru and assaulted an employee over a Filet-O-Fish sandwich.

Surveillance footage captured the incident which happened around 4:30 a.m.

The man is seen ordering a Filet-O-Fish sandwich from the South Brunswick McDonald’s and when his order begins “taking too long”, he’s seen climbing through the drive-thru window where he slaps the employee and makes off with the sandwich.

The employee told police that the man also threatened him saying,

“I’ll be waiting for you when you get off work.”
