Its time to tell

This was a very powerful episode of Oprah for me. While I have never personally been molested….I know all too well the pain that is causes.

The sad part is that often times when the molestation crosses over in to incest the pain only runs deeper for the molested as they are often faced with the difficult task of having to be the bearer of bad news to a family that may not be ready to accept the truth.

Hopefully stories like the one Mo’Nique is sharing with the world will help to start the healing and help victims to come out of the closet and no that the damage or the fallout as a result of telling the truth is a burden that belongs to the perpetrator and not the victim.

Man arrested for running a beastiality farm

When I think about “Animal Farm”, I think about required reading in Junior High but apparently for some folks….Animal Farms are the equivalent of Bunny Ranch in Vegas.

I don’t want to asy too much about this story as I find it thoroughly disturbing, so I am going close my mouth and let you read it for yourself:

https://i0.wp.com/www.teachwithmovies.org/guides/animal-farm-DVDcover.jpg

A Washington State man is in police custody after they say he owned and operated a bestiality farm where customers could engage in various sex acts with horses, dogs and mice.

Dozens of animals were confiscated from the property of 39-year-old Douglas Spink who is known for breeding dogs and horses and ran the “Exit Point Stallions Limitee.”

Police also report that there were graphic pictures at the farm showing child pornography and various acts of bestiality.

Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo described the graphic scene to the Associated Press saying,

“This stuff is just truly bizarre. There were mice that had their tails cut off, they were smothered in Vaseline and they had string tied around them.”

Police became suspicious of Spink, a convicted cocaine smuggler on supervised release, when he repeatedly called a public defender’s office in Tennessee to inquire about a man that had filmed a another man having sex with a horse.

The man on tape later died of internal injuries.

When they searched Spink’s home they also found video of a man having sex with three dogs. That man was on the property in the same clothes as the video and arrested on the scene.

Are you a Reeses lover?

We all know that obesity is a real problem in our country and there is nothing laughable about people who struggle with issues surrounding food and their weight but damn… this is funny!

Someone at Reese’s better look him up and put him in a commercial immediately!

Rapper Guru of Gang Starr dead at 43

https://i0.wp.com/static.technorati.com/10/03/01/10059/guru-rapper.jpg

The world of hip-hop suffered a massive blow today as one its innovators, has succumbed to cancer.

Rapper Guru has died aged 43 after a long battle with cancer, according to statements published online.

The New York MC – whose real name was Keith Elam – suffered cardiac arrest on March 2 and had been in a coma.

His death was announced on the DJ Premier Blog site. Premier and Guru made up the hip-hop duo Gang Starr, which released six albums between 1989 and 2003. Guru went on to release a series of “Jazzmatazz” albums featuring collaborations with Cortney Pine, Roy Ayers and Kool Keith.

The statement also includes a letter, apparently written by Guru and passed to friend and producer Solar, that would appear to maintain a beef Guru had with Premier.

In the letter, seen below, the rapper explains his illness, expresses gratitude to supporters and offers some parting words for DJ Premiere.

I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world. I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease. I have suffered with this illness for over a year. I have exhausted all medical options.

I have a non-profit organization called Each One Counts dedicated to carrying on my charitable work on behalf of abused and disadvantaged children from around the world and also to educate and research a cure for this terrible disease that took my life. I write this with tears in my eyes, not of sorrow but of joy for what a wonderful life I have enjoyed and how many great people I have had the pleasure of meeting.
My loyal best friend, partner and brother, Solar, has been at my side through it all and has been made my health proxy by myself on all matters relating to myself. He has been with me by my side on my many hospital stays, operations, doctors visits and stayed with me at my home and cared for me when I could not care for myself. Solar and his family is my family and I love them dearly and I expect my family, friends, and fans to respect that, regardless to anybody’s feelings on the matter. It is my wish that counts. This being said I am survived by the love of my life, my sun KC, who I trust will be looked after by Solar and his family as their own. Any awards or tributes should be accepted, organized approved by Solar on behalf myself and my son until he is of age to except on his own.

Mistrial decalred in Duanna Johnson case

You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to see this coming. However there is a bit of good news as far as I am concerned. The just which ultimately could not come to a unanimous decision was prevented from doing so by a lone holdout. One man stood between Duanna and justice.

Its nice to know that for the most part the jury actually sided with Johnson and wanted to see the man responsible for the assault (McRae) held accountable.

MEMPHIS, TN – One juror tells myEyewitnessNews.com, the justice system has failed. Will Batts with the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Center agrees. “It looked to be unprovoked. It looked to be excessive on the part of the police officer. It looked to be just an attack on someone in a police station with other people standing around. And it was just incredibly violent.”

At the center of the case was a video that shows McRae beating transgendered woman Duanna Johnson. “It just seems so clear cut to me,” says Batts.

Five witnesses testified the attack was unprovoked. Enough to convince all but one juror McRae was guilty of violating Johnson’s civil rights. “Talking about taking handcuffs and putting them around his knuckles,” says Batts. “That to me seems like a conscious act. That’s not an act of passion of the moment.”

McRae’s attorney, Larry Trapp claims the ten Memphis Police Officer acted in self defense against the 6’5, 250 pound Johnson. “I believe the tape, if you look at it and was diligent about it, and I believe the jury was, demonstrated he had no intent to use excessive force and he used reasonable force under the circumstances he faced.”

Johnson’s supporters tell myEyewitnessNews.com they will not take this lightly. They feel because Duanna Johnson was different, she wasn’t given due diligence. The Memphis Gay and Lesbian Center will hold a rally on April 20, 2010 at 6:30p.m. in front of the Federal Courthouse to show their disapproval. “Would it have been different if Duanna were not transgendered,” asks Batts. If it were just an average person from the suburbs that happened to be sitting in that jail room on that day and had this kind of response from the police, would the decision be different?”

All parties involved plan to meet with the judge to discuss setting a new trial date.

Duanna Johnson was shot and killed nine months after the beating. A spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department tells myEyewitnessNews.com Johnson’s murder is still unsolved.

Look what the wind, blew in….

Ms. Lauryn Hill made a surprise red carpet appearance at the Plaza Athenee in New York City where she attended the Tanzania Education Trust New York gala. Laurny actually looked as if she was in her right mind for a change. While the look is a bit matronly…its a step up from what she’s been see in lately.

Now only if she’d get back in the studio.
